Firstly the owner Guenther & house-keeper Leo were incredibly warm, friendly and attentive! We have been travelling throughout Central America for over a year now and they were our favourite hosts!
This beautiful house has SPECTACULAR views over the lake with incredible perspective of the area!
We spent lots of our time in the garden and at the dining table outside. Our children LOVED the pool table, hammocks, sea-saw, swings, life-size chess, they were always entertained and had lots of space to run around and play outdoors!
We used the garage space as a play area also plus as a yoga studio, which was fantastic!
All beds and bedrooms were comfortable with optional ceiling fan, floor standing fan and warm blankets – to suit all temperatures! We did not require A/C.
We cooked in the kitchen a lot & made good use of the equipment – the host was also able to provide a couple of extra items that we requested which was incredibly helpful!
The living area was very comfortable and as the patio doors open fully it means you can enjoy the incredible views from the sofa also!!
We spent Christmas at this property & were so happy to find a beautiful Christmas tree & decorations at the house on arrival – very impressive and thoughtful touches!!! Our children were over the moon!
The host kindly arranged massages and other treatments on request, at the property, which were incredible!!
We loved the restaurant on site (just a short walk down the path) – the chef Nick & kitchen staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. They made delicious food including Christmas dinner! They also cooked incredible Dominican food which our family really enjoyed, both at the restaurant and to take away and eat at the house! The restaurant also has wonderful views and a fantastic swimming pool, fire pit and pool table! Nick also organized a Harry Potter birthday cake for my daughter which totally blew us away!!
Through the restaurant we also organized to hire a kayak, pedal boat and jet ski on the lake, which all our family thoroughly enjoyed!
The lake is fun to visit, with boat trips for 100pesos per adult & fun restaurants at the lakes edge often with local fish available! It’s particularly fun and lively on a Sunday!
There are a few small shops nearby, however we chose to drive to Santiago to visit the larger supermarket there, which was very comprehensive & well stocked! The local area is full of quiet rolling hills, lush and green with sudden dramatic views!! Expect the wonderful rural feel of cows, goats, chickens, horses & donkeys!
The area feels safe with friendly locals off-site. The hill upto the property is steep but manageable for vehicles and most able-bodies people – we enjoyed walking it down to the lake!
The hosts were great at cleaning the property and offering a fantastic laundry service.
We felt thoroughly well cared for and looked after by our hosts. They went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and happy. They are good and kind-hearted people. We couldn’t recommend this stay more!!
